Clinica Mother Bernarda

I took my daughter to the clinic because she was having an oral intolerance (vomiting), and the doctor, without even examining her, was already saying that the only way to admit her was if she was dehydrated. The girl had eaten fish and could have had a bone in her oropharynx causing the vomiting. The irresponsible doctor didn't even check her! And to make matters worse, the head nurse who attended to her weighed and measured her WITH HER CLOTHES AND SHOES ON!! This causes weight and height gain in children, and MEDICATION FOR CHILDREN IS CALCULATED BASED ON THE PATIENT'S WEIGHT! This meant they were going to give her the wrong dose of medication!! I left there immediately with my daughter and went to another place. What a terrible doctor! I've already filed a complaint with the clinic, the health department (DADIS), and the health authority (Supersalud)! It's unacceptable that people like that are still responsible for the health of Cartagena residents! For those who don't understand the seriousness of this: If a malnourished child arrives at the institution due to an intolerance to oral feeding, they send them back because, according to the institution, the child is at the correct height and weight due to incorrect anthropometric measurements! Horrible! Furthermore, the doctor recommends a medication that has been discontinued in Europe because no clear benefits were observed for children's health—disastrous in every way! And the doctor is arrogant, as if he thinks he's treating animals or something!

Terrible service. I went to the Madre Bernarda Clinic on February 8, 2026. My relative was admitted due to symptoms requiring responsible medical evaluation. However, during the process, an unacceptable situation arose: I was rudely and disrespectfully forced to leave the room, even though it was empty, without a clear explanation or humane treatment appropriate to a healthcare setting. Additionally, and worryingly, an electrocardiogram (ECG), a basic procedure given the reported symptoms, was not performed. Only her pulse and blood pressure were taken, which I consider insufficient and risky. Due to this lack of adequate response, we were forced to go to the Serena del Mar Hospital, where she was seen immediately and the corresponding ECG was performed, demonstrating the omission in the initial care received at your institution. These types of situations generate anxiety, distrust, and, above all, put patients' health at risk. A health institution cannot allow mistreatment by administrative staff or failures in basic care protocols.

I took a family member, and the depressing experience began. At reception, the place looked old and disorganized, with moldy walls from the dampness. The women asking for information were slow and uncoordinated, and the wait felt endless while my family member complained in a chair. Then they took me to triage, which was even more depressing. The waiting room had broken chairs, and everything looked dirty and unkempt. In the triage room, a dirty, old sheet awaited me, and the staff seemed more like they belonged in a psychiatric clinic than an emergency room. The service was depressing, and the staff lacked empathy. Are they underpaid?

What a terrible clinic, absolutely awful. The only halfway decent thing is the food; the service is okay, but the facilities are seriously lacking. When a family member stayed at the clinic, they waited for over six hours for a room or a bed, which I don't think is fair. I'm giving it one star.

If you can avoid taking someone there, it's best; otherwise, they'll surely die! Inhumane staff, little tact, and no sense of service. From the outset, they told us the patient was going to die, and they did... the level of negligence at this clinic is deplorable. The critical life support equipment was out of battery; we reported it, but little attention was given. I imagine that due to the level of corruption within this clinic, they don't care about anything that goes against them. You can see that from the overall rating of 2.7; it's disastrous.
