Dr. Juan Pablo and his team are AMAZING! My experience has been nothing but the best from the very first stages all the way until my post/recovery. I did my research for 3 years with multiple doctors in different countries. Dr. Juan Pablo was the one that I ended up choosing because he made me feel comfortable and confident about the procedure. Just like his slogan says it was "MY BEST DECISION". Everybody is so professional and I have to give a big shout out to the amazing nurses (Diana, Zixta, Carolina and Sandra) who took care me while I was recovering. They truly love their job and care about their patients. A shoutout to the staff at the hotel/recovery house, they were nice, polite, friendly and always willing to serve and help. From Pedro and Tibisay who used to bring my meals everyday, the ladies who made and cleaned my room (Sol and Xiomara) and the front desk staff who were always helpful (Laura and Ricardo). Our driver Jose who was also a delight. Another shot out to Dra. Mariana who has been a great support to me especially since I have been back in Canada. She always answers my questions and provide me with recommendations. And of course, I gotta mentioned Martha who was my 1st point of contact before the surgery. And Dr. Juan Pablo who is a delight of a human being but also extremely professional and knowledgeable. He was always straight forward about the procedure and did an amazing job. If I ever need another surgery, I would NOT hesitate to go back to Bogota again! Thank you for everything! I am excited to see my final results in a few months ❤️

The best decision I could have made. Dr Juan Pablo Rodriguez is an excellent surgeon, extremely professional, as is his entire team. The accommodations were satisfactory, and the nurses at hotel were wonderful and extremely helpful, (I missed them all). The results of my surgery were even better than I had imagined, and It’s only been a month. I highly recommend Dr Juan Pablo Rodriguez.

I am an international patient, currently 6 weeks post-op. I had multiple procedures performed by Dr. Juan Pablo Rodríguez, and I have to say — he is a truly gifted surgeon. My scars are minimal, and the surgical results are technically very well done. I’m grateful for the quality of his work. Pre-Surgery Communication One major downside was the lack of one-on-one time with Dr. Rodríguez before surgery. I had concerns about my breast surgery and wanted to thoroughly discuss options — implant vs. no implant, sizing, and the pros and cons of each. Before arriving in Colombia, I hadn’t spoken to him at all. Two days before surgery, I requested an appointment and was given a short virtual consultation the day before. It lasted just two minutes — he reassured me not to worry and said we would talk before the procedure. On surgery day, we spoke for about 30 minutes. While I appreciated that time, it wasn’t enough to fully process my options and make an informed, confident decision. Unfortunately, I ended up with a breast size larger than I expected, and I’m not happy with that part of the outcome. Payment Issues The payment process was another frustrating aspect. I was asked to bring a large portion of the total cost in cash, which made me very uncomfortable. When I asked to use Zelle — essentially like cash — I was told their account might get flagged due to too many transactions. In my view, this reflects poor business planning. I refused to travel with that much cash and ended up paying by card, which added a 3.5% fee. For such a high-end service, this felt unacceptable. Hotel Stay I stayed at the recovery hotel for 11 days instead of the full 14 but was required to pay the full 14-day package (food and lodging included), with no option for a refund or discount. The hotel itself was kept very clean, which I appreciated. However, the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The food was okay — we were told to expect a healing diet, but this only lasted the first couple of days before it became very basic. Surprisingly, despite paying more than regular hotel guests, I couldn’t even get a cup of hot water for tea. I was told it wasn’t allowed — which felt inconsiderate and ridiculous. Nursing and Support Staff The nurses were the true highlight of the recovery experience. They were kind, compassionate, and went above and beyond to keep us comfortable and help us with everything we needed. They worked extremely hard and did everything in their power to support us — but they lacked proper management support. There were times when one nurse was responsible for up to 7 post-op patients — an overwhelming and unfair situation for both staff and patients. Management Concerns The lack of support for the nurses and the issues with the hotel and driver are all connected — they are managed by the same person. Unfortunately, this part of the process was the weakest. It lacked professionalism, sensitivity, and adequate oversight. I also want to mention that the assigned driver made me uncomfortable. He was overly friendly and asked personal questions that crossed boundaries, which added unnecessary stress to an already vulnerable time. Final Thoughts Dr. Juan Pablo Rodríguez is a highly skilled surgeon, and I’m satisfied with the technical results of my procedures. However, the patient experience — particularly in communication, pre-surgery prep, payment logistics, and post-op care management — fell short of what I expected. I believe with stronger, more professional support services and clearer communication, the overall experience could be much better for future patients.

I traveled from the U.S. to Colombia for a mommy makeover and overall, I’m very happy with the surgical results. The doctor is incredibly talented—I have no regrets about the surgery or the outcome. He is precise, professional, and delivered exactly what I hoped for. That said, the post-surgical experience left a lot to be desired, especially for international patients. Communication before surgery was poor. I was promised a video call with the doctor before the procedure, but that never happened. I didn’t speak with him until the actual day of surgery, which made me uneasy—especially being in a foreign country for something so serious. I was also asked to bring a large amount of cash, which is risky and concerning. As a woman traveling alone, I didn’t feel safe carrying that much money. There should be safer, more modern payment options for international patients. The hotel included in the package was very disappointing. It was old and had a gloomy, depressing atmosphere. The beds were rock hard and extremely uncomfortable, which made recovery difficult. The food was very low quality—not the nutritious, balanced meals they advertise. Post-op care was extremely limited. One nurse for six freshly operated patients is not enough. During those critical first 3 to 5 days, I had to wait 25 to 45 minutes for help, which is unacceptable when you’re in pain and vulnerable. Communication with my family while I was in surgery was terrible. My sister-in-law went hours without updates and my mother had to call from London just to get information. This caused a lot of unnecessary stress for my loved ones. To make matters worse, the driver who picked me up from the airport tried to sell me local tours, which felt highly inappropriate considering I was there for medical reasons. I also want to add that the person in charge of overall post-op care is a relative of the doctor’s wife, and he was extremely unprofessional, lacked transparency, and did not communicate at all. He is not equipped to manage patients or provide proper support during such a vulnerable time. If I were to do it all again, I would stay at a different hotel and hire a private nurse. I 100% recommend the doctor—he is excellent and his surgical work is outstanding—but the entire system that follows him is broken. He is world-class, but he needs a support team and infrastructure that match his level, especially when dealing with international patients.
