Dr Owen Beverlin is a fantastic provider and surgeon! I had gallbladder issues following my recent pregnancy and was referred to him by my OB for evaluation. I felt very validated in my consultation with him and he was great at explaining the process and answered all questions I had without feeling rushed. He is very kind as well! I had a consult and was scheduled for surgery just a few days later. He was great and updated my husband during and after surgery. I had a follow up with him a few weeks later and again was great at answering questions and making me feel heard. If I have any general surgery needs in the future I will definitely request him as my surgeon again. 10/10 recommend! Thank you Dr Beverlin I am happy to have my painful gallbladder GONE!

September 10, 2025 I recently went in for a hernia surgery. This was a very large, well developed hernia. About half of my colon was in my scrotum, and my scrotum was about the size of a cantaloupe. It was a huge mess. My surgeon is Dr. Howes, who is not only a great a surgeon but a good guy as well. He is very knowledgeable, but also very patient. He always answers any questions I might have. The first surgery was Laparoscopic, a robotic assisted surgery with very small cameras and only four small incisions. Unfortunately this surgery did not hold and a more traditional surgery was performed, which was successful. As I mentioned my hernia was really bad, massive, and was not an easy fix at all. Dr. Howes not only got me all patched up, but I almost died twice and he was able to save me both times. But it's not just Dr. Howes who is outstanding, it's everyone Ive talked to at Wichita Surgical Specialists. They are all fantastic, and a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone. Showed up for my daughter’s follow-up appointment and was told that we cancelled the appointment. We did not. They had someone else’s number on our account and were sending confirmation texts to this random number that did not confirm the appointment (obviously). So we waited a couple more weeks for an appointment and waited an hour past our appointment time to be seen. Mind you, we also arrived 15 minutes early to make sure all paperwork was completed prior. If I was running late, they’d cancel the appointment after 15 minutes and charge me a $100 fee. But be prepared to pay $200 for a 45-minute visit when you actually only see the surgeon for 10 minutes after waiting over an hour.

BILLED ME FOR A PROCEDURE THAT DIDNT HAPPEN. I HAVE THE RECEIPTS. TRICARE STEPPED IN BECAUSE THEIR NOTE SHOWED SOMEONE PUT IN AS I GOT THE PROCEDURE - A PROCEDURE I DIDNT NEED. SEEMS SUSPECT THAT MULTIPLE REVIEWS SAY THEY WERE BILLED OVER 300 DOLLARS- SO WAS I FOR A "VISIT" THAT TOOK 15 MINUTES AT MOST. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL IN MY OPINION. HARD TO REACH- DOESNT MENTION LESS INVASIVE PROCEDURES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, OR LESS KNOWLEDGEABLE - SNARKY ON THE PHONE WITH QUESTIONS NURSE)...GO ELSEWHERE. I WOULDNT TRUST WITHOUT A 2ND OPINION ETC. Makes you wonder if people with state insurance dont notice this possible trend of bills for procedures that didnt happen and or unrealistic charges etc. Worth a look! If my bill was 300 plus, at 20% that means the bill was ( including tricare coverage) roughly $1700?! For a 15 minute visit...Thats craziness.
