I recently had surgery at Forest Surgery Centre in San Jose, and I want to express my sincere gratitude for the wonderful care I received. From the moment I arrived, the receptionist greeted me with a warm welcome and made the check-in process quick and easy. I appreciated that there was hardly any wait time before I was brought to the pre-operative room, where the nurse was attentive and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. The anesthesiologist took time to clearly explain the anesthesia process and possible side effects, which helped ease any nerves I had. Dr. Kwan, Matthew David was incredibly kind, answered all of my questions, and checked in with me several times before the procedure, which I truly valued. The entire staff was attentive and supportive throughout my experience. I am currently recovering well and feel confident in the care I received. Thank you to everyone for making my surgery experience as smooth and comfortable as possible.

I had surgery yesterday, and I want to express my sincere gratitude for the care I received at this surgery center. Over the past 3 months, I have undergone two major foot surgeries here, and I truly feel I have been given a strong foundation for recovery and healing. I have two new feet!! This experience has been life-changing in a very real and positive way. I am a Kaiser patient and was referred here by my Kaiser physician to a non-Kaiser facility for my surgeries with her, and I am very grateful for this opportunity and experience. From the beginning, I felt safe and supported. I have had difficult hospital experiences in the past, so I was understandably nervous going into surgery. However, the environment here immediately put me at ease. Every step of the process was calm, organized, and clearly centered around patient care. The communication was exceptional. The anesthesiologist personally reached out the night before surgery, which meant a great deal to me and helped ease my anxiety. The nursing staff was consistently kind, attentive, and compassionate, and I always felt treated with dignity and respect. My surgeon is truly outstanding — highly skilled, confident, and reassuring throughout both procedures. The nerve block and overall pain management were performed so effectively that recovery has felt more manageable than I expected. What stands out most is the genuine humanity of the entire team. I never felt like “just a patient,” but as a person who was cared for thoughtfully at every stage. Even small moments of kindness made a lasting impression. As a health care professional myself I also would like to professionally commend the people whom care for us here… thank you for your service!! After two major foot surgeries, I can confidently say I am deeply grateful for the care I received here and would choose this center again without hesitation.

Before I went in today I had read some negative reviews from my fellow reviewers all I can say is my experience was beyond STELLAR!!! Erica, the receptionist Who is sweet and jovial signed me in “she made me feel at ease by laughing at corny jokes “ and was very professional and at the same time light hearted. I so sorry that I forgot the RNs and nurses aides names as they were so nice and showed me nothing but care and kindness. A couple things they did for me was give me an EKG before my surgery and they gave me a pair of anti blood clot pumps for my legs to take home “see pictures” One reviewer wrote that nurses rushed them out of there to early after the receiving anesthesia. Not the case with me, they woke me up and asked if I needed more time, the nurse even asked if I felt nauseous to which I replied yes to both.” Her response was how much time do you think you will need? I said 20 min. Her response “no problem” I actually stayed an extra 40 minutes!! As I was Super nauseous and the nurse did all kinds of things to help me get over that “blowing cold air on me and putting a cold compress on my neck which really helped” Bottom line: if you are wondering or unsure about Forest Surgery center, I personally would not bat an eye to use them again. THANK YOU FOREST SURGERY CENTER YOU WERE SUCH A BLESSING, FROM THE FATHER TO ME

Just got back from surgery and wanted to say THANK YOU to the staff for the wonderful, professional treatment that I received. For your care and kindness: Thank you, Melima in Registration. You're the bomb ! Thank you, Conella and Ellen, PreOp nurses. So nice ! Thank you, Olga, Recovery nurse. Awesome ! And special thanks to Brianne, who straightened out the issue with the surgery start-time so quickly I was able to keep the original date, which reduced my stress of having to be put under and get this over without having to wait any longer. Thanks ! The facility leaves something to be desired, but the staff more than makes up for it. Dr. IIlano & Dr. Du are PROS !! (Just as something to possibly check into, I got stuck in the elevator when I arrived . . just for a short period, but stuck nonetheless. Luckily, someone came to use the elevator and it kicked on and worked again.)

Their strategy of "get the patient to pay as much as possible" is everything wrong with Healthcare. Upon checkin, we are asked if we want to pay ahead of time. It's a made-up number with no itemization. Months after surgury, we are billed $15k. When asked for itemized, it randomly becomes $10k with a single item - surgury. After back and forth to prove it's a pre-auth surgury and months of phone tag, bill magically gets handled by insurance. But I'm sure they'd really appreciated if I just paid them the madeup numbers.
