There’s a very good reason Dr Kim has dozens of five star reviews. I have FTM top surgery, double incision with Dr Kim in January 2025. Even before the consultation, the office staff were incredibly helpful getting me set up with everything I would need. They referred me to a therapist who could provide me with the counseling and letter I would need before my procedure. They handled all of the insurance approvals throughout the entire process and were great at keeping me updated. At the consultation, Dr Kim asked me all of the right questions to understand what I wanted. When I had questions, his answers were thorough and easy to understand. Where I had concerns, he collaborated with me, partnering his knowledge with my desires to help me come to an informed decision about how I wanted to proceed. For the procedure itself, of course I was not conscious, but I felt confident that I would be safe. The results were well beyond my expectations. I was eager just to have this life-saving procedure done, but Dr Kim had taken the time to understand even better than I did how I would want the result to be, and he achieved it. I've told people that I feel like he is not just a surgeon but also an artist. During the healing process, his staff was SO great. I looked forward to my follow-up visits because they gave me such great care and assurance that my healing was going well. Particularly for trans patients, I would highly recommend Dr Kim and his staff. I felt affirmed and respected the entire time. This was absolutely life-changing for me. No, it was LIFE MAKING. The only thing I will say to anyone looking to do top surgery with Dr Kim is that the wait time can be a little long. I had to wait six months for the consultation and then another six months for the surgery. That said, it was worth the wait. The procedure was done at Avenues Surgery Center, and even though they aren't part of Dr Kim's staff, I want to give a shout-out to them as well. The nursing staff there was so friendly. My nerves were extremely high the morning of my surgery, and they were empathetic and did everything they could to keep me calm. The anesthesiologist, Dr Zimmer, was phenomenal as well. EDIT: I'm one year post op, and I still feel as strongly positive as I did in this review. I have healed so well, and this surgery truly changed my life for the better in SO many ways. My only "complication" was some scar stretching. But even with that, my results are far better than what I ever hoped for or envisioned for myself. There's one thing I wanted to add that I see I didn't mention in my review. During our consultation, Dr. Kim was honest about the possible limitations to the surgery, such as the fact that my scars would extend pretty far back under my arms and would likely touch in the middle. Given the size of my chest pre-op, I was not surprised by this. The result, however, was that the scars didn't go quite as far back as I thought AND they didn't end up touching in the middle. I don't understand the techniques required for this surgery, but I know that with the anatomy I had to get the middle to lay flat without the scars touching took an extremely high level of skill. What's more, even though I did not get trunk liposuction, he was able to place the incisions in such a way to minimize dog earing under my arms and give the appearance of lat muscles. I've never seen results quite like that, and I'm so pleased with it. In my consultation, I expressed concern about nipple size and placement. When I've seen others' top surgery results, I had never seen any that I felt were quite what I would want. Because of that, I was leaning towards not doing nipple grafts and getting them tattooed later. Dr. Kim took time to discuss those concerns with me and expressed his confidence in his own ability to get me the result I wanted. I am very happy with the results. They're the perfect size and placement, exactly what I hoped for. I'm very glad we made the decision to do the grafts.

This facility was amazing!! They called me with details leading up to surgery and were able to answer all of my silly questions I had!! I was nervous going in and they were so kind in talking with me and making me feel as comfortable as possible including putting warm blankets on me and padding the chair so I wouldn’t stick to it! It’s the little things! Turns out the kind lady who was helping me had actually retired last week and was just helping out! She was so kind you would never know she was supposed to be home and enjoying retired life! From Gina at the front desk, to the kind nurse who took my vitals (3 times cause I was so nervous!) and really the whole staff! It was the smoothest and best experience I could have asked for! Thank you for giving me the chest of my dreams!! 12/10 recommend this facility!

Dr. Nicholas Kim is one of the most compassionate and skilled medical professionals I’ve encountered. He has keen attention to details. He’s also intentionally cognizant of how each and every decision and outcome might impact a patient and their overall health. I would absolutely refer others to Dr. Nicholas Kim. In addition to all these qualities, he’s got a warm, yet dry, sense of humor and loves “today’s hits” in the OR.

Wonderful experience. Dr Kim was very informative, he explained every possible scenario. After he explained it he got right to work on my injury. I was able to watch him work on sewing up my tendon and was able to learn how they all work together. It was the best experience possible! His assistant's gave me updates and made me feel very comfortable. I'm very happy with the outcome and I'm healing very quickly! Great people at this facility!
