Dr. June S. Chen, MD, PC

Dr Chen has operated on me several times after breast cancer. She is extremely knowledgeable but doesn’t sugar coat anything. Very forward and very good at what she does. She was the only Dr that knew how to do the specific procedure I wanted. I checked throughout Wyoming, Utah, & Colorado. There was only her at that time. She did a wonderful job reconstructing my breasts after mastectomy. Highly recommend.

I unfortunately had breast cancer. Dr. Chen has operated on me 3 times. The first was for expander placement after mastectomy, next was surgery to swap out expander for final implant and lastly, I had fat grafting to help pain from my lymph node dissection and smooth out any dents or imperfections. Dr.Chen is a true artist and an excellent surgeon. If you didn’t know my journey, you would never know I had reconstructed breasts. I look in The mirror and I look normal. It’s so wonderful! I’m truly grateful for her skill. Dr. Chen is very direct and will counsel you completely about expected outcomes. She is a perfectionist! I am also a physician and did my research on who would be the best physician to give me the best possible outcome! I can’t say enough about her skill and talent. She’s a talented surgeon.

Dr. June was exactly what I needed. She was very to the point and spoke in a matter-of-fact way, which helped me to feel comfortable in asking for her assistance for a very uncomfortable, intimate surgery. But at the same time, she was also very smiley and supportive throughout. And her receptionists were incredible, genuinely kind and understanding. I’m young and new to medical things, but they helped me very genuinely and in a way that was clear to understand. Dr. June Chen would be who I recommend to anyone needing plastic surgery.

Dr. Chen was a wonderful surgeon to work with. She performed my gender affirming double incision mastectomy this March and as of now my results are looking awesome and turned out just as I had hoped for. Healing was a breeze, as well as scheduling post op appointments, and either Dr. Chen or Mary Beth will always be available to answer any questions. As a disabled/chronically ill patient I also felt that I was in good hands and Dr. Chen was reasonably informed on my conditions and how they may affect healing. I was able to discuss customizations I wished to have for the look of my chest, and she was very open and honest with me about what would be possible, what side effects may occur, and that whatever happened she just wanted to give me the chest I'd be happiest with. I can't stress enough how supported I felt throughout the process by Dr. Chen and Mary Beth, and felt like my pronouns, identity, and wishes for the surgery were respected fully and with the best intentions in mind. Dr Chen did my top surgery 3 months ago. Yeah she can be blunt but she knows her stuff. I had a large chest so my surgery was more complicated. Dr Chen did a phenomenal job and I will not need a revision surgery. Many times people with a larger chest will need a revision surgery because of “dog ears”. This is not the case with Dr. Chen because she has a lot of experience with a variety of body types. I am glad that I chose Dr Chen to do my surgery and I have recommended her to my friend. University of Utah has a very long wait list but with Dr Chen I only had to wait a few months.
