My consultation, procedure, and after care were handled by friendly, warm, professional providers. Dr. Mettu is the best! My only regret was how long I waited to have my lower blepharoplasty done.

I had bilateral lower Blepharoplasty. Dr Mettu and his staff did a great job. From consultation through follow up after surgery everything was first class and professional. I'm 11 days out of surgery and everything looks great. Very pleased and would highly recommend Dr Mettu.

I had the best experience with this office and Dr Mettu, I had an upper bleph on both eyes and ptosis on the left eye. He communicated every step, from the first appointment to the very last. The surgery was painless and told me exactly what I should expect. I was never surprised or unaware of what was going on.At first I was nervous because ptosis is definitely very much a trust the process kind of surgery and final results can take up to 6 months. Anytime I was worried or concerned or had any questions in regards to surgery and healing Dr. Mettu responded in reasonable time and made me feel so comfortable with any concerns or questions I had. Highly recommended him and his team. They are absolutely amazing.

I was referred to Dr. Mettu by my primary eye doctor. My low review rating is based on how this office makes you feel. Dr. Mettu's office is inside a medical complex, with many other specialists. Not a single other one requires you to text to be allowed inside. I find that very off putting and unwelcoming to his patients. I know they say it is to deter "salesman or soliciting" but it is also deterring of patients. You want your office to feel like a welcome place to sit and wait. Again, his office is the ONLY one in that building that does it. So it is his own personal issues causing that, apparently no other specialist in the building feels the need to have a waiting room, but NOT use it. Upon actually meeting him and his office employee who also did my check-in, I did not feel anything but awkward and I am not an awkward person.... First of all, they wear masks, which is fine, if that makes them feel better, no problem. The PROBLEM is that they act literally afraid of their shadows. Staying 4ft away or more.... When being afraid to be near your patients for eye / vision evaluations affects them properly doing those, that is an issue. It made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I was unable to properly do my eye evaluations due to them trying to stay as far away from a human as possible. I have no input on if Dr. Mettu can do procedures correctly or not, but I do know that he and his office worker/assistant make you feel very uncomfortable. I think he could do a good job, or at least well enough, but he needs to work on his patient bedside manner. Working in the medical field personally, I am not sure why they act so impersonal and afraid of patient contact, because that goes with the actual job that you have chosen. I would not personally go back to this location and have since told my primary eye doctor of my opinion and why I have chosen to NOT use this specific office. Also they are VERY and I mean almost ridiculously intense on their MANY office rules and practices. They have pages of it for you to read and sign. It really is another red flag and makes me think that possibly Dr. Mettu has some sort of OCD.

In 2025 I had a paid virtual consultation with Dr. Mettu ($255) and scheduled a lower blepharoplasty for December 2025. I paid the required deposit and also paid $250 to have old filler dissolved because it was required before surgery. I live in Savannah, Georgia and planned to drive to Raleigh, North Carolina for the procedure. I booked a hotel, hired a nurse to take me to and from the surgery center, took time off work, purchased the medications and supplies I was instructed to get, and completed a pre-operative video call with Dr. Mettu. During that call I explained my transportation and aftercare plan, and nothing was said that suggested it would be a problem. A few days before surgery the surgical center told me I needed someone to stay with me for 24 hours after the procedure. I was later told this requirement was included in documents I signed months earlier through their app, but I never received copies and no longer had access to the platform. Instead of giving me the opportunity to arrange additional care or reschedule, the office canceled the surgery. Between the consultation fee, cancellation fee, and filler dissolving, I was out about $750. I waited a couple of months hoping someone from the practice would reach out to resolve the situation, but no one ever did. In my experience this was a clear miscommunication and the process felt very transactional. I cannot recommend this practice. If you are traveling for surgery, confirm all aftercare requirements well in advance.
