Today's Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center by Dr. Robert Chiu

I had an excellent experience with **** and could not be happier with my results. Dr. Chiu is a truly exceptional and highly skilled surgeon. His expertise and precision were evident at every step, and the outcome exceeded my expectations. It is clear he is a master of his craft, and that level of ability inspired a great deal of confidence throughout the entire process. From start to finish, Dr. Chiu and his wife/assistant, Sara, were incredibly attentive, responsive, and professional. The pre- and post-operative instructions were clear, detailed, and thorough. There were many important guidelines to follow, and everything was explained in a way that made it easy to understand exactly what was required for the best possible outcome. Dr. Chiu never rushed an appointment and always spent as much time with me as I needed. When I had concerns shortly after surgery, he personally answered a call from me in the middle of the night, which was incredibly reassuring and speaks volumes about his commitment to patient care. Sara was also wonderful to work with — kind, organized, and consistently responsive. Together, they make an outstanding team. I am extremely happy with my results and very grateful for the care I received. I would highly recommend Dr. Chiu to anyone seeking an expert surgeon who combines exceptional skill with genuine, attentive care.

I have been seeing Dr. Chiu just shy of 15 years for Botox and filler, and have kept my "secret" for all of that time. Now, the jig is up because I look significantly younger that some of my contemporaries in their late '50s, and people are starting to ask what I am doing/have done. In my early 40's when I started noticing signs of aging that I knew were irreversible, I started regular Botox treatments. Dr. Chiu has an extraordinary light hand, and NO ONE, not even family members that would notice, knew I was getting Botox! As the years progressed, I began to get small amounts of Juvederm strategically placed and again, not even my good friends or family were asking anything about if I was "doing anything" until very recently. Dr. Chiu is by far my best "weapon" in my anti-aging arsenal, and his light hand and subtle placement is impeccable. I have since moved away but absolutely do travel back every 3 months for my regular appointments. It has been so worth it!

Had a wonderful experience with deep plane face lift , eyelid and neck lift. Post op pain was very minimal, only required taking Tylenol on post op day 1 and 2. Incisions healed beautifully. Dr. Chiu has amazing skill and dedication to his patients. He is also very thorough with follow up. One needs to be mindful to follow his post op instructions. They are easy to follow, but can make an impact on post op results (wearing neck sling , sleeping upright , applying ointment , avoiding blood thinners , etc). I work in plastic surgery and was amazed at how flawless the procedure and results were. Dr. Chiu goes above and beyond for his patients, and has outstanding credentials and training. Highly recommend ❤️

Very high standard of care as well as thoughtful communications. Dr Chiu and Sara together made me feel completely at ease and I have excelled results to my jaw and neckline, lower and mid face lift. Very little postoperative discomfort and no complications. Surprisingly easy. I am still healing but I can see the results are natural without looking pulled or weird. Just a wonderful doctor and team!

The most expensive filler in town from an out-of-touch doctor who will "talk at you" and barely let you get a word in. I recently moved to the area from out of state in a very competitive market for plastic surgery and cosmetic esthetics. I had previously had lip filler and Botox with two other cosmetic estheticians – one in Dallas, TX who is a national trainer and PhD and the other a nurse practitioner at a high-end plastic surgery center and med spa here in Pittsburgh. I was not 100% satisfied with my most recent experience about 9 months previous, so I wanted to try another option. My dermatologist recommended Dr. Chiu and because I trust her, I gave him a shot. My initial appointment was relatively okay, the standard pre-procedure photos and brief consultation, but Dr. Chiu spends an inordinate amount of time talking about himself and his “artform” in esthetics. Even with all this, I decided to move forward with the doctor’s recommendation of RHA 2 (of which cost a cool $1,200 for one vial) … This is more expensive (by $400+) than some of the other more high-end, luxury offices I have been to in the past. Speaking of, there is nothing “luxurious” about the actual office – frumpy old leather sofas and décor from the late 90s. The only good thing I can say about the doctor is that he does have a very good hand, and I experienced little to no pain during the injections. I also healed quickly and the result after healing looks just slightly just kind of “nice”. Upon my 3 week follow up, Sara at the front desk hardly looked up from her computer and asked a few surface questions, then just left me to linger. Dr. Chiu brought me back, took more follow up photos, complimented his work and said “looks great”, but never throughout this entire experience did he issue me an actual compliment (an easy thing to do and a great way to gain trust from your patients). As before, he talked A LOT and every time I tried to interject, he would interrupt me with more unsolicited self-praise and “preaching” about he won’t go beyond what his personal esthetic and idea of beauty is, therefore whatever you want for your own face – forget about it! He’s going to do what he wants to do. Furthermore, when I finally was able to share my mixed level of satisfaction with him, he issued me a back-handed compliment by insulting to me to my face and telling me “If I had run into on the street before you came into my office, I would have *cringe face* thought, eww he looks “done”! So now I am not only feeling robbed and unheard, but he has basically told me that I looked horrible before and now (thanks to him) I look “normal”. This office needs to get a reality check, update their lobby and take some classes on social interaction and how to gain trust from your clients. I would NOT recommend this office NOR would I return.
