I cannot recommend Dr. Stanciu highly enough—she is, without question, one of the most skilled, masterful, and exceptionally principled practitioners I have ever encountered. She truly shines across multiple disciplines as both an ophthalmologist and cosmetic surgeon, and every aspect of her work has come out absolutely stunning. As a functional medicine practitioner myself, I have a very trained eye and extremely high standards when it comes to both aesthetics and physiology. I also came in with a uniquely complex situation: natural facial asymmetry compounded by residual effects of Bell’s palsy following chronic Lyme disease. On top of that, I had previously been treated by another so-called “specialist” whose work left me unable to lift one side of my mouth—something multiple providers refused to even attempt to correct. Dr. Stanciu not only took this on—she corrected it to perfection. The level of balance, harmony, and precision she achieved is nothing short of extraordinary. She has an incredibly astute eye for facial structure and symmetry, paired with a deep anatomical understanding and intelligence—a rare thing in today’s marketplace. I have been a cosmetic client of Dr Stanciu for over 3 years. My experience with her has been much better than with the professionals I had seen the previous 7 years which included plastic surgeons & dentists. She is the only one who includes a follow up visit to tweak the work & is included in her fee. I am now 77 years old & I receive Botox, Radiesse & Sculptra 2-3 times annually. She is an experienced eye surgeon, & I know that I entrust my still lovely face in capable hands. I travel from Greenwich Village to Forest Hills because I want the best care.

I highly recommend Dr Stanciu! I have been seeing her (and her alone) for the past 3 years. I refer to her as my "face artist" because she masterfully brings back my youthful looks in the most natural way. She is professional, skilled, talented and (wow!) very experienced. I have been to many doctors and estheticians over the past 25 years, and have found noone like her. She offers a unique service consisting of complete facial esthetics from forehead to decolette so my entire face is balanced. As a professional entertainer in NYC working for upscale events and corporations, my appearance is of paramount importance to me. I look exactly like I did 15-20 years ago... And, I have never gone under the knife. (Check the different photos of me on my website... They range from the early 2000's to the present!) During my botox treatment, as the botox is running down my face, the doctor says, "I would never get discounted treatments on my face." To which I responded, "No, you just offer them." In the doctor's own words, you get what you pay for. The nursing staff was wonderful, the doctor was trashy. She did not even wipe my forehead with alcohol before injecting me. She kept praising herself as the best in the area, but in my experience, every treatment I've ever had before this was infinitely more professional. Perfect proof you can put whatever letters after your name, but it still won't buy you class. The wifi was down after my treatment and the lady behind the desk thought the appropriate solution was to take an image of my credit card on her personal cell phone. Absolutely not. Go literally anywhere else.

Unfortunately, my experience was very similar to the other one-star reviews. I bought 40 units of Botox on Groupon. I have done this before and have always had great results at other places. This time, I had to fill out an excessive amount of paperwork, take pre-treatment photos, and then wait 45 minutes just to see the doctor. When she finally walked in, she immediately told me I would need 60 units, even though 40 has always been more than enough for me. I politely declined. She then criticized a scar on my lip from a tumor removal and said, “I can fix it so you do not look so bad.” I laughed and said, “No thanks. I am not interested in putting injections into an area that has already had a tumor.” She rolled her eyes. After that, she injected the Botox across my forehead using the strangest technique I have ever experienced, and the product literally rolled down my face. Based on the reviews, I am not expecting to see any results. It seems she judges women who use Groupon for services, even though she is the one offering them, which feels wildly hypocritical. I have used Groupon in the past at reputable establishments and have never had issues with the product, the results, or the professionalism. I'm not one who prescribes to unkindness, but in this case, I feel it's deserved. Based on her own appearance, I think it is time for her to put the syringe down and stop “practicing.”
