Met with Dr. Dexter to discuss surgery. Was very impressed with him and his knowledge of hermia surgery. Date is set!!

Dr. Dexter is the most Normal, funny and efficient, Dr. That I have met, in a long while, and unfortunately ive had the company of many in the last few years. Its nice when you feel seen.

My mother had emergency appendectomy back in March and it was her first surgery ever (at 73 years old). I was visiting from out of town and thankfully was able to stay with her. We had no idea who the surgeon would be and had little time to do any research on who the “best” in the area was. Some how- we got lucky to get “the best”. Dr. Dexter is incredible! If you are fortunate enough to have him as your surgeon during an emergency surgery- go play a lottery ticket! He is experienced, to the point, and so talented. Lakewood ranch hospital can sometimes have a bad reputation but they struck gold with him. Dr. Dexter, I can’t thank you enough for your expertise, precision, and kindness in taking care of my mom. You made the process a little less stressful and it was more than we could have hoped for.

I teach medical students about rare diseases and patient care, the hoops we go through to get care etc. from the eyes of a patient. Dr. Dexter is a rarity, he actually listens to you, not a doctor that is his way or the highway. He and his wonderful staff explains everything, calls and keeps you updated. I saw a previous surgeon for a prophylactic mastectomy and was told "I don't cut off healthy breasts" I have a rare disease and family history of cancer and Dr. Dexter agreed to remove them and gave me the options of implants etc., but left it up to me to decide and supported my choice. He ordered a mammogram prior, which was negative. The breasts were biopsied and I did have cancer. If he didn't listen I can't imagine how bad the cancer would have been before it was found. He potentially saved my life They are completely on top of my care and their compassion and explaining things is a rarity. I've had many surgeries and Dr. Dexter is one of the tops, then add his wonderful staff from the front desk to the nurses that has made dealing with this so much easier and smoother. Having worked in the medical field, their office is so well managed and everyone is so caring about your health, your treated as a human being. PS: No long waits to be seen!!

Overall, I had a very good experience. Dr. Dexter is very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained everything in great detail. His staff is great as well. I would highly recommend him.
