Went in for a procedure and it was great! All of the staff were warm and welcoming, everyone I interacted with was kind. Austin did a fantastic job and with placing my IV and keeping me from getting too nervous while I was waiting for it to happen. Chantelle (I hope I spelled that right) was also fun to talk to right after I woke up. Facility itself was well kept and clean, and my procedure went smoothly. Thank you again!

I went in for a colonoscopy with Dr Saad and everyone in the front office and the back where they prep you were very friendly and considerate. Austin and Berkley, super friendly and considerate while prepping me before and after the procedure. I want to mention Austin did a great job putting in my IV, have had bad experiences before but he was excellent. There were others too but I don't remember their name. The anesthesiologist and the nurse came out and introduced themselves then rolled me back for the procedure, everyone was wonderful and comforting. The procedure went well, of course Dr Saad is the best as far as I'm concerned and used him for my two previous colonoscopies. Overall experience was great. The worst part of a colonoscopy is the prep you have to do the day, before not a fan.😒

This place is unprofessional. They waited 24hrs before my Endoscopy & Colonoscopy procedure to cancel because they apparently didn’t have the equipment to accommodate a patient with a high BMI. Mind you, I had waited almost two months for this appointment already, and Dr YU’s office had taken my weight at the initial appointment before referring me to Barranca Surgery Center. They had TWO MONTHS to figure out if they were unable to do the procedure. I’d also already purchased the medication required for the prep, which was not covered under my insurance, and I paid out of pocket for. Someone clearly dropped the ball. After I was notified by Fang Frank Yu’s Office that they couldn’t move forward, I had to call back and ask for clarification because the first person was vague. I was told it was because of my BMI, but ended up calling back a third time because the second person I spoke to was still very vague. The third guy who answered this time says, “Actually, Dr Fang offered to do another less invasive procedure that wouldn’t require special accommodation.” I said “What procedure? I was never told about a alternative procedure.” He said “It says here they offered a non invasive option, would you like to schedule the appointment?” Again, showing their lack of communication and incompetency. I’m being caught off guard with new Information and I need to access if this procedure is right for me. My concern was, if at the initial assessment it was determined I needed and endoscopy and colonoscopy, clearly it was suggested for a reason, so will the less evasive option still be effective? I was trying determine if I should do the procedure they’re offering, or go somewhere else where they can accommodate me. The guy on the phone disregarded my questions, seemed unbothered and unconcerned, and more occupied on making the appointment or getting me off the phone as soon as fast as possible. It was a waste of time so I just hung up on him. There’s a lot more I could say, but Google has a character limit. I’ll finish with this, I was referred to a new Gastroenterologist through my PCP but the next Available appointment isnt until 3 months out. Had Barranca Surgery Center, Dr Fang Frank Yu and his staff done their jobs properly, I wouldn’t have to wait so long. Definitely WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

Very disappointing experience with the billing department. I went in for a routine preventive colonoscopy that should have been covered 100% by my insurance. Instead, I received a $250 bill due to what appears to be a coding issue. When I contacted the surgery center for help, I was told there was “nothing they could do” and that I needed to contact the doctor myself. I called again the following day hoping someone could assist in resolving the issue, but I was given the same response. It is extremely frustrating to be told that fixing a provider coding issue is now the patient’s responsibility. Patients should not be expected to coordinate between the surgery center, physician, and insurance company just to resolve a billing problem. I would strongly encourage this facility to improve how they handle billing concerns and patient support. This experience has been unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming. If this issue is resolved, I would be happy to update this review.

If you love your family member or care about hospitality do not use this facility. This facility only allowed me to check in my family member. I was told I could not stay in the waiting room. I was informed that they had waiting areas outside in the lobby of the building and outside the building. This was NOT true. There is no where to wait on the property and I ended up waiting in my car. The really tough part is that if you love your family member you know that they want and need the emotional support people with them before and after their procedure. If you want to facility that provides that quality emotional care shop elsewhere. The surgery center is structured like an auto repair shop where you have to drop your loved one off the counter and then picked him up in a wheelchair at the back door later. Covid has brought the worst of humanity out of some businesses. The business of medical care has clearly messed on the point of emotional and mental care. As of 7-1-22 they have a mask mandate. Seems reasonable as a surgery center Although they seem to not be following the science. Just lame mask mandate. I observed their staff Cross contaminating just about everything they touch including their own face masks. I personally would prefer them to just be breathing out germs and to be touching a petri dish of germs on their face. This review is as a family member and not a Patient. I will also have my family member write a review on her experience to provide a fair and balanced review.
