We’ve had such a positive experience here during my daughter’s stay. Every nurse, doctor, and staff member has been incredibly kind, patient, and caring with both of us. As a mom being here alone with her, the compassion and attention they showed truly made a difference and helped me feel much more comfortable during a stressful moment. They treated my daughter with so much sweetness and care, and I’m genuinely grateful for everything they’ve done for us. The pediatric unit is amazing and so thoughtfully designed for children and families. Having spaces like the playroom and the children’s library made such a difference in helping keep my daughter comfortable, distracted, and feeling a little more like herself during her stay. You can really tell they care not only about the medical side, but also about the emotional well-being of the kids. An extra thank you for her nurse Christine, she was very kind, knew how to talk to my daughter and made her comfortable. Thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and kindness. It means more than you know.

We recently had to visit one of my good friends who had surgery. He was placed, I think, on 6 North, and I can honestly say this is one of the best hospitals I’ve ever been to. Everyone is so welcoming and caring, and it really shows that the people who work there genuinely want to help patients feel better and make families feel comfortable. I want to take a moment to thank everyone who made our stay great. First and foremost, thank you to all the social workers, cleaning staff, nurses, aides, and everyone else who works so hard every day. You all play an important role, and it definitely does not go unnoticed. But I especially want to thank Adriana, Stephanie, Daniel, and Anthony. They made sure our stay was nothing but pleasant. Stephanie is amazing. She is so attentive, caring, and always made us feel like we mattered. No matter how busy things seemed, she always took the time to check in, answer questions, and make sure everything was okay. You can tell she truly loves what she does because her compassion comes through so naturally. Having someone like her around during a stressful time made a huge difference. Daniel was also incredible. He is one of those people who immediately makes you feel comfortable. He was always kind, patient, and understanding whenever we needed anything. He never seemed bothered by questions and always took the time to help. Sometimes it’s the little things a friendly conversation, a reassuring word, or simply taking a moment to listen—that make all the difference, and Daniel did that effortlessly. Adriana is such a kind soul. She always came into the room with a positive attitude and a smile. She made sure my friend was clean, comfortable, and had everything he needed. What stood out most was how genuinely caring she was. She treated him with kindness and respect every single time, and those things mean a lot when someone is going through a difficult recovery. Anthony is the perfect person for this job. I got the chance to speak with him, and I can honestly say I see that kid going places. Every time he walked into the room, he brought positive energy with him. He was friendly, professional, and just had a way of making people feel at ease. Some people do their jobs, but others leave an impression, and Anthony definitely left one on us. The healthcare field is lucky to have someone like him. Anyway, I don’t want to make this longer than it has to be. I just wanted to say thank you so much to all of you. What might seem like just another day at work for you made a real difference to us. During a time that could have been stressful and overwhelming, you helped make it easier, and that’s something we’ll never forget. Thank you all for your hard work, your kindness, and the care you give every day. It is truly appreciated. ❤️

I wanted to take the time, although later than intended, to share feedback regarding my grandmother’s hospitalization from September through October 2025 and to recognize several staff members who made a meaningful difference during a very difficult time for our family. Overall, this was a mixed experience. There were several staff members whose care, compassion, and professionalism truly stood out, and I am deeply grateful for them. At the same time, there were ongoing concerns that required daily advocacy on our part, particularly surrounding the progression of her skin breakdown and the level of responsiveness on certain units, which makes it important for me to provide an honest and balanced review. My grandmother, Ivy Graham, was 100 years old, fully in her right mind, incredibly sweet, gentle, and beloved by just about everyone who met her. Staff across multiple units often affectionately referred to her simply as “Grandma,” and many would stop in just to check on her because they had grown so fond of her. Hearing things like “she’s so cute” and “I love her” became a regular part of our daily visits, and those moments of warmth meant a great deal to us. I would especially like to recognize Suzette Porter, Nurse Manager of 4 Link North, whose leadership and compassion truly stood out during my grandmother’s stay. Suzette was excellent—present, attentive, and proactive. She connected with our family, stepped in without hesitation when care was needed, and made sure concerns were addressed. One moment that stayed with me was coming in and seeing my grandmother covered with a beautiful knitted blanket shortly before she was discharged home. It was such a thoughtful and comforting gesture, and it meant a great deal to us during an incredibly difficult time. Special thanks to: • Venedicta Perez (CNA): excellent, attentive, and extremely thorough care. She formed a lovely connection with my grandmother and our family. • Danielle Fantousa (CNA): exceptionally gentle and compassionate. When I requested assistance with washing my grandmother’s hair, she stepped in without hesitation, and it made such a difference in my grandmother’s comfort and dignity. • Blessy Jose (Nurse): wonderful support in preparing us with supplies and guidance so we could continue addressing the skin breakdown once my grandmother was discharged home. I also want to recognize Eunice Yoon, Deborah Graham, Shirley, Bridget Owusua, Bernice Asare, and a number of other staff members in this unit for their care and support during her stay; their names escape me. From 4 Pavilion West, Monique (charge nurse) was very responsive and helpful, and Ashley was caring and attentive during my grandmother’s isolation period. There were also other staff members on that unit who were kind and helpful, even if I do not recall all of their names. A very special thank you to Latanya Blake, Patient Experience Advisor, who was an incredible resource not only during this hospitalization but from a previous stay as well. Her compassion, follow-through, and guidance were invaluable, and she helped ensure my grandmother received the best care possible. One of the most difficult and distressing aspects of this hospitalization was the progression of my grandmother’s skin breakdown, which began during her stay on 4 Pavilion West. It worsened significantly over the course of her hospitalization, despite ongoing efforts by both staff and family to manage it. By the time she was discharged from 4 Link North, it had become severe, extremely painful, and heartbreaking to witness and care for. This created an incredibly difficult situation, as we were constantly trying to balance keeping her clean and comfortable while also giving the affected areas opportunities to rest and heal. She was weaned off oxygen enough to come home on October 11th and passed peacefully the following week, on October 17th. Thank you to those staff members who treated her with kindness, dignity, and genuine affection in the final days of her life.

My mother 88 years old had her hietia hernia repair 1/7/26 by Dr. Toghrul Talishinskiy MD in St. Joseph's Hospital he told us it was medically necessary. After the surgery he told me afterwards it was successful. It was unsuccessful the following day her hernia returned back onto her esphogus. He and his assistant Ahmadi MD. Saw the chest x-ray our family ordered the following day ( I attached the report) it literally showed the hernia back in her esphogus and they chose to ignore the findings and released my mother 2 days later. We were never notified that her surgery at this point maybe it never even was repaired who knows...? Pretty scary that patients could be disregarded like this and you cant do anything about it. So Im letting the public know these Dr's working in this hospital seem to have their own set of rules. Beware my mother once home on that Monday while in my care began choking on soft food that evening. Dr. Talishinskiys office was closed and conveniently has no number to offer other than 911. I had to call 911 and she went back to the hospital. She was stuck in St Joseph's er for 5 days! They never changed her bed sheets she was dirty from bring treated for pneumonia hence she didn't have pneumonia....and the antibodies mixed w being back on a liquid diet caused havoc on her G.I. I brought this situation to the Chairman of the hospital Napolitano Massimo we spoke 1/29/26 . He said he was sorry this happened and would do his own investigations never heard back.
