I had OB surgery here and it was AMAZING. It was a Monday morning and literally everyone working said they were having a great day. The waiting room was really nice with plenty of spaces to get comfortable in. My pre-op nurse (Alisha?) was THE BEST and even came to check on me post-op and called me that week to check in. My surgeon (Dr. Getz, who most of the staff even see as their OBGYN!) was great and excited for my surgery. The anesthesiologist was great, nice, and funny - all the nurses said he's their favorite so I was in good hands. The post-op nurse was also great and really took care of me and helped manage my pain and nausea. An RN even wheeled me out to my car. Could not have been happier with the whole experience!

The staff was top-notch! Any anxieties & worries were held with understanding & kindness. All questions I had were answered, even before asking (iykyk). Thorough, professional and comfortable in all aspects. Highly recommend!

Had a partial hysterectomy done here. Every single staff member we encountered were amazing. Dr. Lown was my surgeon and he did a fantastic job. His bedside manner is wonderful. He checks in on his patients and listens! All the nurses from pre op to post op and discharge were absolutely wonderful. I was very sick after the surgery from anesthesia and pain meds and the nurses were so kind. They literally were wiping my face and holding my hair back while I was getting sick. No one treated me like an annoyance when I had to get up and use the bathroom and threw up every time. Very wonderful, compassionate people. Thank you to all of you! You are a blessing!

After having had experienced having surgery twice in the last 4 months, (once at Corewell health, & once at U Of M Health), I can confidently say the surgical experience at U Of M was infinitely more pleasant. I should also note that Corewell health’s Emergency room didn’t even recognize my urgent need for surgery in the first place this time around, however U of M’s Emergency room did within an hour of me being there. So I had my surgery here yesterday, (09/13/23), with Dr. Shockley, & from the very beginning everyone treated me with the highest level of respect possible. The nurses were all so kind, reassuring, & helpful. I have a high level of anxiety at all times, but surgery especially tends to really freak me out. The nurses noticed this & went above and beyond to make me comfortable & distract me, such as letting me play Mario Kart while I waited to go back. Next, the anesthesia this time around was so much better than at Corewell. The anesthesiologist actually took the time & care to talk to me, and made sure I was comfortable. Also It was super peaceful & easy, rather than scary when I was actually being put under. Having this experience yesterday changed my view on being under anesthesia & having surgery in general entirely. I now don’t fear it nearly as much. I am so grateful to all of the wonderful nurses, doctors, Dr. Shockley, & the other staff members who went above & beyond for me yesterday.

I just had surgery there this past Friday.( Jan 10th) My laparoscopy went well. My doctor(Getz, her assistant, the anesthesiologist( Dr.Ahmed) were great! However , Some negligence occurred. I was told I was going to be sent home with a printed copy for post op medication. I was very groggy from the anesthesia and they gave a folder with papers in regards to my surgery. I thought my script was in there too. I got home and take a nap and I woke up in some pain. I went to go through my folder for the script and it’s not there! One of the nurses practically pushed me out the door as well so they forgot to put in my folder! They had one job! I’m getting a lawyer and suing for negligence. It’s now the weekend and I can’t get hold of my primary doc, Dr. Getz or a surgical center cuz conveniently, it’s closed! Make sure your patients have their needs met BEFORE they leave your office. I’ve been writhing in pain all weekend because of this place. I better be repaid for this negligence! Update: Ended up in the ER January 11 due to not having pain meds that were SUPPOSED to be given to me by this office .My pupils were uneven sized, my blood pressure and heart rate went up 50 points. Was close to a stroke... don’t ever use this place for surgery unless you have a death wish !
