Doctor Barakat is the best hand surgeon. He repaired an almost severed thumb to have 100% range of motion and flexibility. He’s about to do another surgery on my hand but his communication was the best and I trust him. I don’t understand the other negative reviews, he’s not paid to be sunshine and rainbows he’s paid to fix the messes. Besides, he’s been nothing but kind with me. This is your guy, if you need surgery consult with him.

I've been going to Dr. Barakat for over a year. I've endured 2 hand surgeries with him and 1 previously. I was told by a couple of other doctors that my hand would not improve and that it was going to be permanently injured. Dr. Barakat did not except this diagnosis. He stayed positive even when it was hard for me to be optimistic. After my second surgery with him and months of therapy, my hand is now usable and working well. He did what other doctors refused and did it with a ton of positivity. He is one of the best hand surgeons in the midwest.

I took my 5-year old daughter to Dr. Barakat the morning after she broke her finger. I was able to get an appointment right away and the staff has been nothing but kind, accommodating and engaging with my daughter. Dr. Barakat has a wonderful personality and made my very nervous daughter feel comfortable. He was certainly conservative with his recommendations and didn't push us to do one thing over another. He was attentive, and didn't spend any more time than was necessary. My daughter even said she wanted to be a "hand doctor" after leaving his office! Would definitely recommend this entire office.

Beware! We were referred to Dr. Navil Barakat by an Urgent Care facility. Doc was pleasant enough, but WAY too quick to schedule surgery for my husband’s broken pinky finger. Literally not even 5 minutes into our first visit in his office, barely any questions asked, had us scheduled for surgery the next morning. Scheduling was already calling us with prep details in literally a matter of minutes after stepping out of his office. Dr. Barakat did not have concern over the seriously high BP and heart condition my husband is battling, which is a serious risk with anesthesia. He said it didn’t matter, he would not be under anesthesia very long. No pre-surgery testing of any sort, No time for 2nd opinion, etc. Scheduled for surgery in a blink of the eye, no other options. This did not sit well with us, we felt pushed and a sense of urgency that made our head spin. We went with our gut and cancelled the surgery within the next hour and made an appointment for a 2nd opinion, thankfully. Second doc does not agree with surgical option. Instead he created a custom brace (no cast, no surgery). Husband is healing under the care of a great specialist/surgeon, and without the additional surgical expense. Do yourself a favor and skip Dr. Barakat. We strongly felt he was too anxious to cut, probably how he makes his money. Check out CORE Orthopedics if you’re looking for a great physician and an honest, caring specialist. We’re under the care and strongly recommend Dr. Metz. Best decision ever.

Let's face everyone gets different experiences. In my case I had bad experience staff is poorly trained every visit all I got asked is how you feeling that's only Question they ask after that you tell them any thing they dont note down anything about your emotions or trouble you facing while coming out of surgery or Any other problems that we might dealing with after surgery. It will take Dr only 1 to 5 minutes finishing meeting with you. He is always in rush. If you are his Patients Best Of Luck if you are new patients consider this review. Good Luck
