Dr. Kosik is a gifted Surgeon. She is thorough, detailed, and perceptive. She prioritizes patient medical issues without the drama or detachment of some other doctors and in a way the patient can understand. She quickly identified issues that other doctors and Surgeons missed. I had Bi-Lateral Inguinal Hernia’s. Dr. Kosik provided a comprehensive examination, diagnoses, and treatment strategy. She is very thorough in explaining the procedures, issues, possible side effects, and review of what happened in the surgery. Having complete and accurate information is important when you are faced with a decision to have surgery, and Dr. Kosik was very instrumental in giving me the confidence to make that decision. She built great rapport from the first meeting through the post-op follow-up. She took the time to understand my issue, how it was affecting my lifestyle, and why it was important to me, and she instilled confidence throughout the experience. She is extremely caring, compassionate and most importantly a very skilled surgeon. She truly wanted to help me and explained everything to me including the risks and the expected successes. She has a sense of humor and is an excellent listener. I am currently recovering from surgery and very happy with the decision I made, and I am so lucky to have had her perform my surgery. She provided an easy-to-understand diagnosis and thorough expectations for the entire surgical process. This approach set me at ease for the surgery and recovery which went exactly as she described. I am very happy with the results! I am also very happy with the outcome and the appearance of the scars post-surgery. Dr. Kosik is a very compassionate, caring, dedicated, and knowledgeable doctor. Her care, communication and honesty are attributes that will impress anyone who chooses to trust her with their medical needs. Her staff is there for all your needs and their response time is excellent and detailed. Dr. Kosik is not only a world-class surgeon but a kind and caring human being.

I have had surgery with Dr. Kosik 3 times over the past 25 years. I trust her completely. She listens, educates, validates what your procedure will be and she personally sees that your preferences are followed from pre-op through recovery. I have never had a better doctor. She truly cares about her patients and their outcomes.

Visited doctor for the first time. She seems like a very smart woman. However I felt so rushed by her and especially her nurse Michelle. I waited a bit to see her since it appeared she had a lot of patients in the office that day. I did call leaving a message that I wanted to talk to the doctor and I never got a response. I tried emailing her on my chart and her nurse Michelle answered the email without answering my question. This part has been very frustrating.

If I could give her a negative rating I would. If you’re looking to get unnecessary surgery’s done mixed with unfamiliarity on GI problems Kosik is the person for you. GI team at Elmhurst were disorganized to say the least. They didn’t notify on my colonoscopy results until I called 2 months later. I have sent messages and no responses. I get referred to Kosik for a “consultation” and she didn’t do any exams and scheduled me for gallbladder removal!!! I’m in my 20s and she didn’t even attempt to see if problems were in my stomach. I’ve begged for months to get an endoscopy and HIDA scan done and I’ve been ignored. No HIDA scan or endoscopy were done. Now she’s saying “gallbladder obviously isn’t working”. I’m interesting in knowing what is so obvious after 1 ultrasound showing tiny polyps. Told me cholesterol polyps could be cancer. I’ve switched to NM fully and will never be back at EH. NM GIs couldn’t believe a surgeon would say such nonsense. They did all the exams and found I had STOMACH ISSUES that were corrected with diet. Polyps are now even smaller than before. Kosik was going to remove my organ because “you don’t even need it” without TESTING to see if it was necessary. I hope all of her new patients are smart enough to get away ASAP.

I had surgery with Dr Kosik on October 3rd. I she told me my recovery time would be 1 to 2 weeks. The day after my surgery someone from her office called to check on me. I communicated that I had a lot of pain and that the meds caused a lot of nausea which resulted in constant vomiting. She said she would inform the doctor. I had no call back from the doctor. On Saturday I called the answering service and was able to speak the with the on call doctor. I explained that I had unbearable pain. He told me to take a warm bath and it would help. Saturday night, I called him back and cried because the pain was unbearable. He gave me the ok to go to the emergency room. Dr Kosik never called to check on me. The following Wednesday I called Dr Kosik's office and didn't get a call back from the nurse till hours later when I was already back at the emergency room due to extreme pain. Dr Kosik never called to check on me. My post op appointment was on Thursday October 17th. I explained to the nurse, in tears, the pain I still felt. She left the room and the Dr came in. I again explained the pain I felt and I had questions. The doctor rushed my check up. Rushed my questions which didn't allow me to communicate all of my concerns. The doctor literally had the door open while I was still sitting in my underwear asking her questions. I felt so disrespected and uncared for. She met with me for maybe 4-5 minutes at best. How can a patient feel safe with a doctor who pays zero attention to her concerns and rushed through the appointment? When she rushed out I just cried of frustration. Dr Kosik does not care about her patients.
