Dr. Schwartz completed a breast reduction for my daughter when she was 18. Now she is 25 and it was life changing. She went from a G cup to now being B-C cup. I have recommended him to other women for their daughters. Surgery and coming home was done in one day.

Dr. Schwarz is an excellent plastic surgeon ! His office personnel are all very helpful as well. You are treated with the utmost caring and respect by the Dr. and his staff. Dr. Schwarz explains your procedure/ plan of care so that you fully understand. I have used his services twice and have excellent results. I highly recommend Dr Schwarz.

I initially saw Dr. Bishop for my double mastectomy. She did a great job with my expander implants, but due to her notoriously long wait times, I decided to see another surgeon for reconstruction. I was also frustrated that she wouldn’t show me examples of her previous work, explaining that results vary from patient to patient. Dr. Schwarz came recommended, but I regret switching. In hindsight, I wish I had stayed with Bishop or chosen a different hospital for reconstruction. I had embraced my expanders as part of my healing process and wanted them recreated with a slightly more natural look while still maintaining the high, round shape. Unfortunately, my consultations with Schwarz always felt rushed, with little explanation of my options. At the time, I assumed this was normal and that I didn’t really have many choices. I understood my radiated side would cause limitations, but I assumed they would look similar to my expanders, which is what I wanted. I never expected my reconstruction to look so drastically different from my expanders. Looking back, I wish I had pushed harder to ensure he understood what I was asking for. After surgery, I was immediately disappointed. Over the phone, he told me he did what he felt looked best. When I voiced my frustration, he shifted his explanation to safety concerns. At my first (and last) follow-up, he compared photos of me before my mastectomy and after, pointing out how much he felt he had “improved” my appearance. This was humiliating—I loved myself before surgery and had learned to love my expander stage as well. To hear him criticize both was deeply upsetting. It has now been over four months, and I am left extremely asymmetrical, with an awkward dip in my hip where fat was harvested. He has never followed up to check on my healing. While I know he has many positive reviews, my personal experience was very disappointing. Conversations with other surgeons have since confirmed that he was not a good fit for my first reconstruction. I endured two years of breast cancer treatment without breaking down, but this experience left me devastated. A compassionate surgeon might have said, “Let’s see how this heals and explore options to get you closer to your goals.” Instead, I was made to feel that what I received was the best I could ever hope for—an approach that came across as arrogant and dismissive. 3 stars because I didn’t die on his table or suffer an infection, but the overall experience was profoundly discouraging.

The worst decision was going to Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Schwarz! I went to him in February, 2025 to discuss a prophylactic mastectomy. This was a preventative measure. I did not have breast cancer nor did I carry the gene. Due to other health reasons, I was told this was a good decision. I made it clear, at multiple appointments over 7 months, that I only wanted surgery if I could have a full reconstruction using my own body, as I have plenty of skin and tissue on my stomach from a previous weight loss. That was documented at every single appointment I went to prior to having my surgery in September 2025. I made it abundantly clear I did not want implants and did not want the surgery if that was the outcome! At no point in time was I told I was not getting that surgery, and there were witnesses in my appointments with me that heard me repeat this, as well as it being documented on MyChart MULTIPLE times!!! He conducted the surgery, removing both breast, knowing he was not going to do that reconstruction surgery with my tissue, but did not share that with me as I would not have had my breast removed! HE decided what was best! Him! Not me, nor was I told!!! I’ve had to have emergency surgery after the surgery he did because I got a rare infection. I kept screaming from day one of the surgery that something was wrong and nobody on his team would listen to me! I ended up at an emergency room twice before having to have the second emergency surgery. They offered no antibiotics, they kept telling me nothing was wrong, when I was showing visible signs that something was terribly wrong! Now I am forced with the decision of having a concaved chest or some type of implant which I do not want because he chose to do the surgery without telling me that he was not going to do the only surgery I was interested in! There were multiple doctors involved and multiple people in this team, and regardless of the fact that I have documented proof multiple times of telling them that is the only surgery I wanted, he did what HE wanted! He’s condescending (when you do get to see him) and good luck getting someone in an emergency after hours! We couldn’t reach them, and nor could Mercy ER when they were trying to reach them! I am now stuck with no breast, temporary implants in that don’t fit, and that are sticking out of my skin catching on stuff, they hurt, I can’t go back to Cleveland clinic, and now I have to find an entire different surgeon and different hospital to complete this whole mess! Do not use this doctor! I was told to go to Cleveland clinic and trusted that they are “supposed” to be the best. This guy has a 2.3 rating out of a five on health grades. Stay away from Cleveland clinic and stay away from this guy! This entire process that should have been 2 surgeries , is now going to be a minimum of 4 because of him!!!! If you go to him, and he screws you up like he did me…you can’t fix it! I am now in therapy due to this, I am having all kinds of other problems due to it! I won’t even go into how much I look like an absolute freak so far with what he did!!! I am currently seeking legal representation !
