Metamorphosis Plastic Surgery: Dr. Daniel P. Markmann

I recently underwent a Mixto CO2 Fractional Laser procedure. Wow. What a difference it makes in refurbishing the entire face and reducing / erasing the forehead and crows feet lines.  I am not going to say this procedure is a walk in the park, but if you want results, you got to earn it. There is mild pain involved during the procedure, but not after. The procedure took a few hours, and then for the next 10 days you have to hibernate like a bear. No sun exposure, moisturize and clean the face often, and serious binging on Netflix, Hulu, etc.  Friends of mine noticed right away that my skin looked more youthful and no wrinkles. I am at 2.5 weeks now. Dr. Markmann was very involved after the procedure, bringing me in several times to check my status.

From the moment I arrived, my experience with RN Katherine Kirklin felt truly exceptional. She has such a refined, calming presence and an incredibly gentle touch that immediately put me at ease. Katherine took her time to thoughtfully answer every question, ensuring I felt fully informed and confident throughout the entire process. The entire experience felt elevated, seamless, and deeply personalized. You can tell she is not only highly skilled, but genuinely passionate about delivering beautiful, natural results. I left feeling refreshed, confident, and already looking forward to my next visit. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone seeking a high-end, results-driven aesthetic experience.

If it were possible to leave a zero-star rating, I would. I would not recommend Metamorphosis Plastic Surgery or Dr. Markmann for abdominal etching based on my personal experience. What was presented to me as a routine procedure ultimately resulted in years of frustration, embarrassment, additional expenses, and corrective surgery. During my pre-operative consultation, Dr. Markmann told me that he could create the appearance of an eight-pack. Based on those discussions, I expected a natural-looking, athletic result. Unfortunately, the outcome was nothing like what I was led to expect. Instead of natural abdominal definition, the procedure left what appeared to be a large rectangular outline etched across the upper portion of my stomach with six square-shaped sections inside it. The etched lines looked artificial and appeared to sit on top of my abdomen rather than follow the natural contours of my body. To me, the result looked more like slices of cake than actual abdominal muscles. One of the most noticeable problems was the area below my belly button. In my opinion, too much fat was removed from this section, leaving it flat and lacking definition while the etched lines above stood out prominently. The contrast between the upper and lower portions of my abdomen made the overall appearance look unbalanced, unnatural, and obviously surgically created. Prior to surgery, I was told by Dr. Markmann's assistant, Ashley Cook, that abdominal etching was something Dr. Markmann could "do in his sleep" and that it was a simple, routine procedure. Based on my experience and the final outcome, those assurances did not match the results I received. What makes this experience even more disappointing is that I returned to the practice on three separate occasions seeking corrections. Each time, I expressed my concerns about how unnatural the etching looked. Despite multiple opportunities to address the issues, the appearance never improved. I felt that my concerns were dismissed and that I was being encouraged to accept a result that I found unacceptable rather than having the underlying problems properly corrected. The results had a significant impact on my confidence. During a trip to Hawaii, I became so embarrassed by the appearance of my abdomen that I put my shirt back on after receiving negative reactions from people who saw it. Instead of feeling more confident after cosmetic surgery, I felt self-conscious, humiliated, and disappointed. Ultimately, I sought corrective treatment from a surgeon in Miami. Before performing the revision, the surgeon used ultrasound technology to identify my natural abdominal anatomy and locate my actual abdominal muscle definition. The corrective procedure was then planned around my natural muscle structure rather than artificial contour lines. The difference in approach was significant and highlighted what I believe was missing from my original procedure. The fact that I had to travel out of state, undergo corrective surgery, incur additional expenses, and endure further recovery time was both frustrating and costly. I paid Dr. Markmann for multiple procedures and revisions with the expectation that the issues would be corrected, but I was ultimately forced to seek help elsewhere. Dr. Markmann may be well-regarded in other areas of plastic surgery. However, based on my personal experience with abdominal etching, the unnatural appearance, the failure of three follow-up visits to resolve the problems, the emotional impact, and the need for corrective surgery, I cannot recommend him or Metamorphosis Plastic Surgery for this procedure.
