Having access to a practitioner like Dr. A is truly special as he could easily have huge success in a larger city like NYC or LA. His multiple certifications (facial plastic surgery, reconstruction, and rhinology) lend themselves to a very unique skill set that other local providers do not have. He takes all the time you need to get answers to your questions and to feel comfortable. He performed my nasal surgery and was meticulous and thorough. I can breathe through my nose, had a tumor removed (wild), and improved the cosmetic appearance of my nose while maintaining my overall appearance. I was going for function and subtle cosmetic improvements and he delivered. His staff are also super friendly and responsive. It is worth the wait to get an appointment with him and schedule a surgery if needed. I wouldn’t want anyone else.

I could not recommend any doctor more highly for sinus related care than Dr. Adelson of Albany ENT, and here is why. I suffered from severe sinus issues that went undiagnosed for several years. By the time I finally checked myself into Albany ENT urgent care, I was experiencing back to back sinus infections every month. Fortunately, I was assigned to work with Dr. Adelson, a decision that ultimately changed my life. From our very first visit, Dr. Adelson immediately began what he calls chasing symptoms. He performed an in office scope and listened intently as I explained everything I had been dealing with for nearly five years. It was clear right away that he truly cared and was determined to understand the full picture. He quickly identified a severely deviated septum along with a widespread sinus infection affecting multiple sinus cavities, most notably on the left side where the deviation was. He started me immediately on antibiotics to treat the active infection and also placed me on steroid drops added to my twice daily saline irrigations. In addition, he ordered a full workup including CT and MRI scans, bloodwork to assess my immune system, and allergy testing. The scans revealed a nearly 90 percent deviation to the left. Even more surprising, my bloodwork showed significantly low immunoglobulin levels, while allergy testing came back largely normal. It became clear that my symptoms were being driven by a combination of structural issues and a compromised immune system. Dr. Adelson coordinated care with immunologists to address my immune deficiency and had me continue consistent sinus irrigations. Within about six months, my symptoms were almost completely controlled. For the first time in years, I was no longer living in three to four week cycles between infections. I truly viewed him as a hero. I continued routine three month follow ups for over a year. Once my immune system was stabilized, we finally saw how my body reacted to a common cold. While the cold resolved, lingering symptoms eventually led to another sinus infection. Only at that point, after exhausting every conservative option, did we seriously consider surgery. I deeply respected that surgery was never rushed and was treated as a last resort. I am now one week post operation after a five hour surgery performed by Dr. Adelson to correct my deviated septum and remove diseased tissue from multiple sinus cavities. Recovery has been challenging, and when I called with concerns after some particularly difficult nights, he saw me right away. He carefully examined my sinuses, reassured me that my healing was coming along nicely, and confirmed that everything looked great following the procedure. He then removed clots that were not clearing with irrigation and took out both septal stents. In that moment, I breathed better than I ever have in my entire life. It was an incredibly powerful and emotional experience. I am heading in tomorrow for final packing removal and continued post operative care, and I have complete confidence that this procedure will be truly life changing. It will allow me to fully show up for my wife, my two daughters, and the rest of my family and friends. If you are considering care at Albany ENT, and especially if you are considering Dr. Adelson, I hope my experience gives you confidence in the level of compassion, patience, and expertise you can expect. I came for an appointment and it was wonderful. Very thorough. I had a follow-up appointment and I waited about 30 minutes. Once I was in with Dr. Adelson, I realized why I was waiting. He took the time to actually listen and explain everything the way I needed. I realized that he was that way for the person before me and that was by I was waiting a little bit. That made me happy and extremely satisfied because throughout all the prior doctors I have seen, they rushed me out with no real care and I have been looking for a guy like Dr. Adelson. I am very satisfied and have referred all my family to him. I also saw Dr. Yufan Lin for something else and it was also a very patient, kind doctor that took the time to assess my situation. This office/group is just fantastic!

Best doctor I've ever seen. He is thorough, respectful, terrific listener, great bedside manner and very knowledgeable. He goes above and beyond in his treatment of patients. I can't say enough good things about him. He is at the top of his profession. I am thankful I am in his care.
