I underwent a bilateral upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), and I honestly could not be happier with my results. From the very first consultation, she made me feel safe and well-informed. She carefully explained the procedure, recovery time, and realistic expectations. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and honesty made me trust her immediately. The surgery went perfectly and my recovery was much easier than I expected. I had minimal discomfort and the healing process was very smooth thanks to her clear post-operative instructions and constant follow-up. She truly cares about her patients and is always available to answer questions. My eyes now look more awake, natural, and refreshed — not “operated.” Friends and family notice I look younger and rested but cannot tell I had surgery, which is exactly what I wanted. I had surgery with Dr. Daniela Ciambelli in December 2023 and am sharing my experience to warn others. Before the procedure, I asked if my implants should be checked via ultrasound. She told me it wasn’t necessary. During surgery, she discovered my right implant was leaking and removed tissue from underneath the nipple and the lower breast. While the removal of affected tissue may have been necessary, no reconstruction was done , no fat grafting, no volume replacement, and no protection for the implant. As soon as the swelling reduced, it was clear something was wrong. My breast was already visibly disformed from the missing tissue, and my nipple was completely sunken in and essentially gone, with no supporting tissue underneath. The implant had been placed directly under the skin, which is a well-known risk for Baker Grade IV capsular contracture, which sadly I developed very quickly. She also made two new very large scars rather than using the original incision lines, a choice that is also never done in revision surgery and had to be corrected in my second operation. When I expressed my concerns shortly after the surgery, she told me the result “looked good,” despite the fact that there was no visible nipple and a clearly misformed breast. She even offered to “fix the nipple in the office” something all five Dutch surgeons later warned could have caused nipple necrosis which comes with your nipple dying. In the Netherlands, I consulted with five plastic surgeons. All were shocked and had never seen anything like it. Some refused to operate because the case was too risky. Eventually, I had revision surgery with a highly experienced reconstructive surgeon at Jan van Goyen Medical Center. He performed a full capsulectomy, implant replacement, fat grafting, and scar revision. It cost me over €13,000, months of pain, emotional distress, and I still need another surgery to reconstruct last part of the nipple. I had placed my trust in her but once the surgery was over and problems arose, she disappeared. I wrote her a respectful, fact-based letter including rapports from the restructive surgery in the Netherlands and requesting a refund of the 93,310 MXN I paid. After that, she blocked me on WhatsApp and did not respond to my email, showing zero compassion or professionalism. This experience has been painful, costly, and traumatic and much of it could have been avoided. The aesthetic result was far from acceptable and I was put at medical risk. I’m sharing this so other women are aware and can make informed decisions.
