I can not say enough good things about Dr. Calao Cirujano. He was extremely quick to make my diagnosis and give me a plan of action. He ordered all appropriate tests and shared all results with me. He checked on me daily and made sure I was getting better. He is a Gastrointestinal Surgeon. He did everything possible to avoid surgery. Writing this review on behalf of my mother (52 years old) with whom I've been visiting Dr. Calao and who was operated by him (laparoscopic gallbladder removal) in May 2021. From the first consultation visit, to the surgery itself, to post-surgery support, Dr. Calao has been amazing. We consulted with 3 surgeons in Cancun initially and decided to go with him, as he had shown the most dedication and care to my mom's gallbladder issues and helped us understand what to expect, end-to-end. Dr Calao was comfortable maintaining all communication in English, which helped a ton. He has been easily accessible via Whatsapp for all kinds of questions and advise we needed pre- and post-operation, and the surgery itself went flawlessly, with my mom being back on her feet in just a couple of days afterwards. Laparoscopic incisions were tiny and neat, which she loved. Very positive experience all around!

Excellent surgeon. He operated on my mother for an inguinal hernia, and from the initial consultation to the post-operative period, everything was impeccable.
