CLÍNICA GUILARTE

I have consulted Dr Guilarte for an rhinoplasty, after having some issues with my nose (12 years after the first rhinoplasty). I have received the digital consultation with photo first, and travelled to Madrid for a in-person consultation with Dr Guilarte, before deciding to do the operation. I was operated with rib cartilage insertion and the recovery was very smooth, and simultaneously I had a blepharoplasty. I was satisfied with the service, attention to the client, recommendations from the Doctor and with the result. The doctor and his team are very professional and expert. I can highly recommend doctor Guilarte, a specialist in rhinoplasty operations and fixing noses that were wrongly operated before or had terrible and visible mutations during the years.

I Had a great experience with this clinic ! Dr Guilarte is an incredible surgeon (one of the best in Europe ) and my result is even better than expected! The staff at the clinic and at the hospital were super friendly and accommodating, the post-op recovery was ideal (no pain, no bleeding etc) and I was supported throughout every step of the process. Dr Guilarte is very quick to answer any questions and offers many post-op follow up appointments to ensure optimal healing! Coming from abroad, I was a bit worried about the potential language barrier but there were absolutely no issues with communication! 7 months post-op, and I can honestly say this was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made ! Rhinoplasties are very delicate operations requiring very high surgical skill, which Dr Guilarte certainly possesses. His understanding of how to join function with aesthetics is what allows for the best results possible, both anatomically and visually. I honestly think there are very few clinics that offer this level of service and it’s truly worth every penny! ¡fue un placer!

I had a very positive experience with the Clínica Guilarte. The staff have been extremely understanding and Dr Guilarte is the best surgeon you can come across. Coming from abroad for my very first operation, I found myself in the best hands. I was very well surrounded and supported throughout my time in Madrid. The pre-op and post-op went very smoothly and the result exceeded my expectations. Totally recommend them!

Disrespectful towards married couples and with lack of basic epidemiology knowledge. My wife had an appointment and I was accomodating her. As soon as we entered the clinic, we were told that during covid restrictions, only one person can see the doctor and even stay in the clinic facilities - as a husband, I was asked to leave the clinic and wait on the street in front of the entrance (really?!). It should be well known that people living in the same household will infect eachother if carrying the virus, so splitting them in public spaces has no meaning for either side. Nowhere in Madrid we were treated like this. UPDATE: Afrer seeing the response, I must react. Since nobody spoke English when we called we were not informed that husband or anybody else cannot accommodate her. Another low point for this clinic. And your assumption is not correct. We both work from home and share same activities - you should not act based on your personal stereotypes about married couples.

I underwent a secondary rhinoplasty with this surgeon, and unfortunately my experience has been deeply disappointing, both in terms of the result and the overall patient care. At the beginning, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere at the clinic. Although not everyone spoke English fluently, the staff genuinely tried to communicate, which I appreciated. However, during the pre-operative consultation, the doctor seemed to have very little time for me. He quickly took photos of my face and briefly explained how the surgery would proceed. He repeatedly mentioned how extremely busy he was, especially on Mondays, which made the consultation feel rushed and impersonal. I clearly communicated, both in emails and during the consultation , that I did not want my nose to look long or “Pinocchio-like,” even showing a reference photo of results I wished to avoid. Unfortunately, the final outcome is exactly what I was afraid of. Four months after surgery, I attended a follow-up consultation. I had written to the doctor beforehand explaining my concerns and emotional distress, but it became clear he had not read my message. During the appointment, his attitude became defensive, arrogant, and dismissive. He told me I did not trust the healing process and stated that he would not touch my nose again. The conversation left me in tears, feeling unheard and unsupported. Instead of empathy or understanding, I experienced a very cold and rejecting approach. The surgery cost more than €23,000, and given that level of investment, I expected professional communication, care, and empathy throughout the healing process. At follow-ups, the doctor focused mainly on taking photographs; he did not physically examine my nose or ask whether I was experiencing any problems during recovery. Now, 10 months after surgery, the result appears even worse to me. From the side, especially when smiling, my nose looks overly long, precisely the outcome I explicitly asked to avoid. I feel that the surgeon applies the same aesthetic approach to every patient, without sufficient respect for individual facial proportions or personal wishes. In my experience, the doctor was kind only as long as nothing was questioned and no concerns were raised. Outside of the surgery itself, consultations lasted no more than 3–5 minutes. Sadly, this has been the worst and most expensive decision of my life. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this surgeon.
